We actually believe it – when we say a bike is enough to be happy. Any bike of course, but all in all considered we are not only convinced that a bike is enough – even more: ONE bike is enough!
During the past few months we cycled any surface and had countless setups: 700c and 650b wheels, 25 to 50 mm tyres, bags loaded and free from any extras. We have rode MTB trails, multidays bikepacking, Granfondos and road events.

Well, not only riding. Also hiking our bikes. That happened too, in the last few months
All of us are always riding the same bike. At this point it’s pretty straight forward that if we don’t have to jump on a downhill course or on the track, our Exploro Racemax will be able to take us everywhere. Fair enough, but this upcoming weekend we will try to prove it one more time because what’s planned on the Dolomites is way too interesting.
Not too far apart, two huge events are taking place and we will miss none of those. In Val di Fiemme there is our favourite event: Jeroboam Dolomiti, 300 km and 9k D+.We talked about it a few days ago already. And in Corvara the Maratona Dles Dolomites, being the granfondo with the most beautiful climbs of the World.
Considering that choosing among the two is basically impossible and that we wanna close once and for all this thing that a bike is enough, let’s take a test subject to torture and let’s see if he can make it through both of them. In less than 48 hours. Total 440km and 13K D+!
So, what’s the plan? Starting off the Jeroboam 300 around 1 pm on Friday – with a special waiver, because the event is scheduled for Saturday morning and you are still on time to register for it – and trying to get out the best performance possible. If everything goes fine, we jump to Alta Badia and get in the starting grid by 6:30 am on Sunday morning, to elbow the way in the Maratona Dles Dolomites bunch.
Who’s the unfortunate subject of this experiment? This time the stage is left to Fede Damiani. During the Jeroboam he will be followed by Fede Bassis, while on Sunday’s Maratona Jacopo and Asja will be there, although finding each other in the bunch will be no easy task.

Maybe he’s not ready enough…
So Friday set up will be: 650B Fulcrum Rapid Red 3 wheels with Pirelli Cinturato H 45mm tyres, Ekar groupset with 38T and a 10-44 cassette, a Cluster 7 and an Internode filled with the necessary for a night ride and a couple of hour sleep. For Sunday the plan on the other hand is having a naked bike, 700c Fulcrum Wind wheels with Pirelli Velo TLR Racing 28 mm tyres and a 9-36 cassette.

How will it go? Who knows, we will see if the bar was set too high or if we will make it through. Nonetheless we’ll see you in Alta Badia or in Val di Fiemme. To take part in the Maratona you either have the number already or you’re out, for the Jeroboam you are still in time to register. Saturday the 300 and 150 will take off, while the 75 and 37.5 are left for Sunday. Be there, there are options for every palate and no excuses to stay home.
